About the Role
Trainer-2 works with the transdisciplinary team of professionals to provide clinical services for children with autism spectrum disorder and related developmental disabilities. Trainer-2 is responsible for learning and applying ESDM content understanding with moderate support from Trainer treatment plans designed by the therapy team and collaborating with the Speech Language Pathologist, Occupational Therapist, and Board Certified Behavior Analyst on the team. Trainer-2 supports the professional development of 5 or more direct reports and conducts formal management duties including: Meet with reports regularly (4-6 weeks), gather feedback for year end reviews and complete documentation in a timely manner, support development plan definition during review periods, provide relevant feedback relative to goals, and refine as needed over the course of the year, advocate for the team and recommend approaches that allow therapists to do work aligned with development goals and interests. This is a unique position to work closely with colleagues in the Early Start Denver Model.
Requirements
Candidate Requirements:
Master’s degree in any of the following: Occupational Therapy/Speech Language Pathology/Behavior Analysis (or related field)
Preference given to candidates with a foundational knowledge of and experience with the Early Start Denver Model
Candidates must have at least three to five years of experience working in pediatrics
Access to transportation required. Require a valid driver’s license & car insurance
Physical stamina: Endurance to enable the necessary therapy services required of the role
Technical ability: Has an aptitude for and understanding of common business tools and applications such as, but not limited to, Microsoft Office and the Google Suite
Responsibilities:
Demonstrates advanced skills in clinical judgment and a deep understanding of:
ESDM criteria and child development as well as creative application and modification of treatment plans using the ESDM model
Requirement to be at fidelity standard- 85% for ESDM implementation
Develop and train therapists in the ESDM model and creation of supplemental support plans and alternative teaching strategies using evidence-based intervention techniques and best practices for premier standards for care
Integrate discipline-specific knowledge and evidence-based intervention into practice as appropriate
Demonstrate testing proficiency with formal and informal discipline specific assessments and formal and informal ESDM/ behavioral assessments
Foster communication and coordinate client care amongst team and project confidence that compels people to follow and inspire the best from a team
Responsive to feedback and able to deliver feedback in a constructive and positive way to trainees
Achieve measures and metrics as Lead member of client therapy team to ensure client progress and skill acquisition and reduction in autism symptoms
Participate in a three-month training in the Early Start Denver Model

Blue Stars Therapy is the leading organization focused on children aged zero to five years with autism and other developmental delays in the greater St. Louis, Missouri area. Using the Early Start Denver Model, we provide specialized Behavioral Therapy, Speech-Language Therapy, Occupational Therapy, in the home, school, remote environments, and at our center-based program, The Blue School.
